13.1  

Punch out six 1/4” balsa nose gearbox bodies, NGB-1.  

Building a right and left sides glue three each together by align-
ing up all edges.  

13.2  

Lay out the assemblies to make a right and left gearbox.  

Punch out one each of the nose gearbox front, NGB-2, and glue 
on the front of each gearbox matching the outside profile.  

13.3  

Turn the assemblies over to work on the back side.  Us-

ing two each of ¼” balsa gearbox bases, NGB-3, glue on the 
back center of each gearbox.  

13.4  

Using the included aircraft photos sand the gearbox to 

it’s final sanded shape. 

 

13.5  

Punch out the two 1/8” plywood engine intake swirl 

vanes, EN-I, and sand to a desired finished shape.  This is cos-
metic purposes only.  The blades may be shaped like propellers 
to simulate the intake swirl vanes.   Depending on the desired 
finishing technique it is recommended to glue in place later. 

 

 

13.0   OSE GEARBOX 
         ASSEMBLY 

13.6 

Install the transmission bay assembly onto the fuselage. 

Sand the back edge of the transmission bay to the final rounded 
shape while blending it into the fuselage tail boom interface.  
Sand the lower fuselage corners to the finished shape.
