Tests Using the Temperature Verification Kit
You need the Temperature Verification Kit to perform the:
• Heated Cover Verification
• Temperature Verification
• Temperature Nonuniformity Test
About the
Temperature
Verification Kit
The Temperature Verification Kit consists of:
• A probe – The appropriate size for the sample wells in your instrument. The
probe can be ordered separately or a part of a kit. (See page 6-6 for part numbers
for the probes.)
• Digital thermometer – Model 4690 Digital thermometer with 9 V battery
• Light mineral oil
• Cotton swabs
You need the appropriate model of the Temperature Verification Kit for your Veriti
Thermal Cycler, as shown below.

Running the Heated Cover Verification
Use this test to verify that the heated cover is within ±3
°
C of the 105
°
C set point.
Required
Materials
The appropriate Temperature Verification Kit for your Veriti Thermal Cycler model
(see table above).
Procedure
This test takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
PHYSICAL INJURY HAZARD. Hot Surface. Use care when
working around the heated cover and sample block(s) to avoid being burned.
