Bypass Switch TAP/Aggregator User Manual
Ports x06 and x08, or ports x07 and x09 can also be paired.
•
On
: The selected port and adjacent port in the segment are paired together. A dark-blue
border appears around the paired ports in the same manner as Network and Appliance
port pairs.
•
Off
: The selected port works independently of its adjacent port. Both ports operate as
regular I
NTELLA
F
LEX
ports. Port Bypass icons are not displayed on these ports when
operating in this mode.
The ability to pair ports x06 and x08, or x07 and x09, provides the user with two additional
sets of ports that can be used as Appliance ports when setting up a Load Balanced Group.
Ports that are paired, display the same icons on both the Ports screen and the Port Properties
dialog.
Paired port rules
The following rules apply to paired ports:
• Each pair of adjacent ports in a segment are, by default, paired. When paired, Appliance
ports are connected to a network tool for monitoring or analyzing data. However, the
Appliance ports in each segment can be unpaired for applications that want to use the
ports as an I
NTELLA
F
LEX
port.
• The four additional I
NTELLA
F
LEX
ports (x06, x07, x08, and x09) can also be paired with their
adjacent port (e.g. x06 and x08).
• However, when paired, they function as paired Appliance ports.
• The default Paired Ports setting for ports x06, x07, x08, or x09 is
Off
.
• The following settings apply to both ports in a pair:
• Heartbeat (Appliance ports only)
• Port Mode
• Paired Ports
• Port Rate
• Port Locking
• The following settings apply to only the selected port in a pair:
• Port Name
• Set Bandwidth Thresholds
