Chapter 4: Install and configure the unit
Unpack the unit
This section describes how to safely unpack the unit, protect sensitive devices and identify
electrical requirements.
Safety precautions
As the unit is unpacked, be aware of the following safety precautions:
• Avoid lifting the unit in a way that could result in the equipment falling and injuring
anyone. Use a cart to move equipment whenever possible.
• When lifting and moving equipment, maintain the unit in an upright position.

To unpack the unit:
1. Inspect the unopened carton for signs of damage or water stains. If carton is
damaged, contact the freight carrier for an inspection of the carton and contents.
2. Unpack the carton and place components on a table, cart, or other surface on or near
the installation location.
3. Inspect all components for damage.

ESD CAUTION
To avoid damage to hardware from ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD),
always discharge any static electricity on your body by touching a
grounded bare metal surface or an approved anti-static mat before
picking up an ESD-sensitive electronic component.
