Resetting Ethernet IP Address to Factory Default
In the event that Ethernet communication is lost between the LAN client and the Ethernet/GPIB Controller
card on the MG369xC, the following IP address reset procedure can be performed.
This procedure resets the IP address to the factory default STATIC IP address of 192.168.0.254.
1.
Power off the MG3690C and disconnect the Ethernet cable from the rear panel.
2.
Power cycle the unit while shorting Pin 19 of the AUX I/O connector to an available ground (pin 2, 8, or 24
of the AUX I/O connector, or to the metal chassis) for five seconds to restore the factory default settings.
3.
Power down the MG3690C and reconnect the Ethernet cable to the rear panel.
4.
To verify that the IP address has been reset to 192.168.0.254, connect to a PC with its IP address set to
192.168.0.253.
5.
Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.0.254 in the browser address line.
6.
The Welcome Page should appear as shown in
Note
The MG369xC MAC address can be used to find its IP address on the Network by sending the com-
mand “arp -a” via a DOS command prompt. The MAC address can be found on the back panel of the
instrument and is also shown on the Welcome web page for the instrument.
Alternatively, the user can query “*IDN?” on the available network instruments to locate the IP
address of the MG369xC.
