JP8 Secondary IDE Controller
JP8, the secondary IDE connector, is a 40-pin dual-inline berg that connects
the secondary primary and slave IDE drives to the secondary onboard IDE controller.
Attach the secondary master and slave IDE drives to JP8 via a standard 40-pin IDE cable
as shown on page 25.
Ultra DMA 4/ATA66 Drives on the Secondary Channel
AMI MegaDual ships with two 80-pin IDE cables.
Although the cable is 80-pin, the connectors are still 40-pin.
80-pin cables are required to support UDMA-4/ATA66 IDE drives.
AMIBIOS automatically detects the cable type and drive type so that it can enable the
fastest IDE mode possible.
