Step 6 Install Memory
System Memory There are four 72-bit SDRAM DIMM (Dual Inline Memory Module) sockets. System
memory must be populated one bank at a time. Each bank contains two sockets. Bank0
contains DIMM sockets U17 and U19. Bank1 contains U18 and U20.
The minimum amount of system memory supported by the MegaDual PCI is 16 MB. Each
socket can hold one DIMM. You can use:

1 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
2 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
4 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
8 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
16 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
32 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
64 MB x 64 (or 72)
•
128 MB x 64 (or 72)
Memory must be installed one bank at a time. The two modules in a bank must be exactly
the same.
MegaDual supports up to 4 GB of system memory using PC-100 unbuffered DIMMs. Both
registered and non-registered DIMMs are supported.
