Replacing a Molded Filter
A molded filter should be replaced at least once a year, provided that it remains in good condition. Replace it immediately if
inspection reveals that it is torn or damaged, or if shake cleaning fails to clear the filter apertures.
1. Switch off the blower motor.
Press the
OFF
switch to shut down the blower motor. Wait
1 minute for the blower motor to stop. If you are using a
manual shakeout model, rotate the shakeout handle to shake
out the filter.
2. Shake out the filter.
If you are using a manual shakeout model, rotate the
shakeout handle to shake out the filter.
If you are using an automatic shakeout model, wait for au-
tomatic shakeout to finish. Note that shakeout does not start
until the blower motor has been off for 1 minute.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
The cord should be unplugged to ensure safety.
If your cleaner includes the automatic shakeout feature,
you should also disconnect the wiring in the shakeout mo-
tor.
4. Remove the filter.
Remove the tank cover. Then remove the wing nuts holding
the filter in place. Finally, remove the filter.
5. Remove the shakeout assembly.
Remove the shakeout assembly from the filter. Check the
condition of the vibrator. If the vibrator is worn, replace it.
6. Install the new filter.
First install the shakeout assembly into the new filter; then
install the filter into the cleaner. The replace the tank cover
and tighten it securely.
