Section V. Calibration
Series 300 Weld Head System with the 350C Weld Head Control

Equipment Required
An NIST traceable force gauge in the 20lb range.
A calibrated, 4+ digit voltmeter, accurate to at least ± 0.1%
WARNING:
Calibration should be performed only by a qualified electronics technician since the cover
must be removed to provide access to the adjustment potentiometers. Contact with voltages present in
the control may cause serious injuries.
Preliminary Setup
Set the POWER switch to the ON position and allow the Weld Head Control and all test equipment to warm
up for 15 minutes prior to calibrating the system.
Procedure

Set the POWER switch on the rear panel of the Weld Head Control to the OFF position.

Disconnect the AC input power to the Weld Head Control.

Remove the Weld Head Control cover.

Reconnect the AC input power to the Weld Head Control and set the POWER switch to the ON
position.

From the MAIN MENU screen, select CALIBRATION and press [ENTER]. This accesses the PRE-
CALIBRATION screen. A series of screens will be displayed that will guide you through the
calibration procedure. You may soon find it more convenient to follow only the calibration screens
as you become more familiar with the process. You will need a small, flat blade screwdriver for
making potentiometer adjustments.
