Weld-to-Displacement
This feature ensures consistent nugget size by regulating the energy cutoff point of the power supply,
thus controlling the amount of material collapse or set-down.
Weld Head Dynamics
The dynamics of the Actuator during the weld operation are detailed in Appendix C. The information
will be useful in installing, setting up and operating the Weld Head System.
Other Important Features
Other important performance features of the Weld Head System are:

Precise measurement of setdown displacement for each weld provides an indication of weld
quality.

Weld-to-displacement feature shuts off the power supply when a programmed setdown
displacement is reached.

Over force and “hammering” are eliminated, even at high weld repetition rates.

Real time graphical display of programmed and actual weld force and setdown displacement for
each weld.

Storage of up to 128 welding schedules allows rapid setups for applications that require different
force and setdown control.

Unique electrode dress mode that minimizes electrode maintenance down time.
