Defining Global LLDP Properties
The
LLDP Properties Page
allows network managers to assign global LLDP parameters.
To enable and configure LLDP on the device:
1.
Click
LLDP > Properties
. The
LLDP Properties Page
opens:

contains fields for configuring LLDP:

Enable LLDP
— Indicates if LLDP is enabled on the device. The possible field values are:

Checked
—Enables LLDP on the device. This is the default value.

Unchecked
— Disables LLDP on the device.

Updates Interval
(5 - 32768) — Indicates the interval (sec.) between consecutive LLDP advertisement
updates The possible field range is 5 - 32768 seconds. The default value is 30 seconds.

Selecting the check box returns settings to default.

Hold Multiplier
(2 - 10) — Indicates the amount of time that LLDP packets are held by a receiving device
before the packets are discarded. The value represents a multiple of the Updates Interval. The possible field
range is 2 - 10. The field default is 4. For example, if the Update Interval is 30 seconds and the Hold Multiplier
is 4, then the LLDP packets are discarded after 120 seconds.

Reinitializing Delay
(1 - 10) — Indicates the amount of time an LLDP port waits before reinitializing LLDP
transmissions. The possible field range is 1 - 10 seconds. The default value is 2 seconds.
