MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Safety instructions
CAUTION!
Always secure the trailer with chocks
prior to performing any maintenance and
care jobs!
CAUTION!
Safety-relevant component!
The overrun hitch is a component of the
brake system. Irrespective of the service
intervals for the overrun hitch, the brake
system must be checked by a specialist
workshop after 1500 km or 6 months.
During maintenance, care, and inspection
work all system components must be checked
to ensure they are in a safe operating state
and in perfect working order.
Checking the brake system does not replace
the prescribed maintenance measures for the
overrun hitch.
Every 6 months
Clean tooth tips and check for damage!
Apply water-repellent grease
Grease the locking toggle
Every 10000 to 15000 km, or every 12 months
Lubricate or oil sliding and articulation points
on the overrun hitch (13).
Lubricant type: Multi-purpose grease as per
DIN 51825
Check the overrun hitch's shock absorber.
Maintenance and care jobs
The formation of white rust on hot dip galvanised
vehicle components does not reduce safety, and
can be reduced by the following measures:
When laying up or storing hot dip galvanised
components, ensure good air circulation.
After winter journeys, wash the hot dip gal-
vanised components with clean water (e.g.
steam jets).
