Read Chapter 10 regarding basic operation of the EZ-SETUP controller and refer to
Chapter 18 for initial installation and in-depth operation of the Boiler Management
System.
•
Verify the Esteem 399 and the boiler system are full of water and all system components
are correctly set for operation, including the minimum flow rate through the boiler (see
Appendix A).

installed and supported. Reference the Esteem boiler vent supplement.
•
Verify burner configuration - Propane only.
o
Check for proper labeling on the gas valve and the rating label for propane
configuration.
o
If there is doubt on the burner configuration, remove the gas valve and check for
proper propane gas orifice size: 0.264” (6.7 mm) for Esteem 399 Low NOx boiler.
Refer to Figure 7-2 at the end of Chapter 7 for location of the propane gas orifice.
NOTE
For natural gas applications the Esteem 399 requires an orifice in
size of: 0.330” (8.6 mm)
•
Ensure the vent Condensate Drain Assembly is filled with water.
