3110 HELP FILES – SECTION 6
Control drop-down menu in the 3110’s main win-
dow. A Template icon will be added to the active
test sequence. Select the Template tab and press
the Choose Template... button to open the file se
-
lection dialog box. Locate the .swg file for the test
desired, and then double-click on the file name to
add it to the Template control. Or you can click on
the file name to select the .swg file, and then press
the Open button in the file selection dialog to add
the test to the Template control.
When a test has been added to a Template con-
trol, the file name will appear in the Template prop
-
erties tab. An Open button is available to allow the
associated test to be loaded into the main window.
Loading the test into the main window will clear
any waveforms or controls currently in the main
window. A confirmation dialog also provides the
opportunity to save the current test before opening
the Template.
6.4.6 GPIO Output Control
NOTE:
GPIO Output controls are not supported on
DSR Series systems.
Use the GPIO Output Control to send a signal
through the GPIO-enabled pins on the 3110’s DB-
15 and DB-9 connectors when the GPIO Output is
played as part of a test sequence.
IMPORTANT:
Before configuring the GPIO Output
Control, each GPIO port must first be configured to
function as an input or an output using the GPIO
Setup controls on the Configuration tab located
under Settings. Please refer to the GPIO Setup
instructions provided in the sidebar on the next
page.
If a GPIO port has been configured as an input in
the GPIO Setup controls, that port can be used as
a GPIO Trigger only, so you must set that Output
Port to Ignore (no signal) on the GPIO Output
control properties. If one or more GPIO ports has
been configured as an output in the GPIO Setup
controls, you can configure the GPIO Output seg
-
ment to send a signal on that port, or you can set
the port to “ignore,” if desired.
Each GPIO port configured as an output can be
set to send a signal when the GPIO Output seg-
ment is played as part of a test sequence. The
signal type can be configured as Set (a continu
-
ous signal of 0 or 1), or Pulse (a pulsed signal of
0 or 1 for a specified number of milliseconds). See
Figure 6.17.
6.4.7 LAN Output Control
Use the LAN Output Control to send a signal
through the 3110’s Ethernet port to a device on the
network. See
Figure 6.18.
IP Address:
Enter the IP address of the device on
the network to be contacted.
Message:
Enter the character or character string
to be sent to the targeted device.
