PPTP Tunnel Configuration
PPTP is an unencrypted protocol.
Select the
PPTP
item in the menu to configure a PPTP tunnel. PPTP tunnel allows pass-
word protected connections between two LANs. It is similar to L2TP. The tunnels are active
after selecting
Create PPTP tunnel
.

Description
Mode
Specifies the L2TP tunnel mode on the router side:
•
PPTP server
– Specify an IP address range offered by
the server.
•
PPTP client
– Specify the IP address of the server.
Server IP Address
IP address of the server.
Local IP Address
IP address of the local side of the tunnel.
Remote IP Address
IP address of the remote side of the tunnel.
Remote Subnet
Address of the network behind the remote side of the tunnel.
Remote Subnet Mask
The mask of the network behind the remote side of the tunnel
Username
Username for the PPTP tunnel login.
Password
Password for the PPTP tunnel login.

The firmware also supports PPTP passthrough, which means that it is possible to create a
tunnel through the router.
