If you want to use one-way CHAP for the logical devices on your iSCSI Storage
Appliance, provide Username and Password values below the
DiscoveryAddress parameter.
• To indicate that the CHAP parameters are only associated with iSCSI targets
behind the portal, leave at least one leading space before the
Username=
and
Password=
lines, as shown in this example.
DiscoveryAddress=192.3.2.187
Username=a
Password=111111111111
• To indicate that the CHAP parameters are global, leave no leading spaces
before the
Username=
and
Password=
lines and put them in the beginning of
the iscsi.conf file.

Start the initiator by entering this command:
linux:~ #: /etc/init.d/iscsi start
You’ll see this message:
Starting iSCSI: iscsi iscsid fsck/mount
Note
If you open a new window and enter this command, you can watch the
syslog messages as you start the initiator:
linux:~ #: tail -f /var/log/messages
You may see errors and warnings during the startup.

The initiator should have discovered and logged onto the targets. Use
iscsi-ls
to
see which targets you are connected to.
Note
You can also use
cat /proc/scsi/scsi/
to view iSCSI targets as regular SCSI
disks.

You will see output similar to the following:
