The P5 N
EWTRON
XS control unit has a control dial
on the upper side marked OI (ON / OFF) and
marks ranging from 1 to 20 (power level).
Located at the back of the unit are:
- a power cord socket with ground pin (Fig. 2-1),
- a non-disconnectable footswitch cord (Fig. 2-2).
The handpiece connect to the scaler cord (non-
disconnetable) located on the right-hand side
(Fig. 1-3).
The handpiece connector can be placed on the
holder (Fig. 3-4).
The irrigation flow adjustment and Flush/Prime
button is located on the left-hand side (Fig. 2-3).
The device has ventilation vents on the lower
side.
The device has four rubber feet to allow proper
air flow.

3. 2 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
a) Control unit upper panel
Dial (Fig. 3-1) on the top is used to:
- Switch the machine on and off: OI (Fig. 3-2).
- Adjust operating power: 1 to 20.
The display is separated into four colored
sections, each with five positions (fig. 3-2)
The "ON" indicator (Fig. 3-3) lights up with the
color and number corresponding to the chosen
power level:
-
Green: 1 to 9 : very low to low power, mainly
used for periodontics.
- Yellow: 6 to 14 : medium power, mainly used for
endodontics.
- Blue: 12 to 18 : high power, mainly used for
scaling.
- Orange: 17 to 20 : very high power, used mainly
for prosthesis removal.
The technology of this device allows the
practitioner to work at constant amplitude
depending on the power selected with
compensation according to the effort applied.
Note :
The tip usage power level is selected according to
the directions in the TipBook™ and the color-
coding system (CCS).
b) Control unit back panel
The P5 N
EWTRON
XS power receptacle with its
grounding pin is connected to the power network
using the disconnectable power cable.
The practitioner switches on the P5 N
EWTRON
XS
using the ON/OFF footswitch.
Pressing the footswitch automatically switches on
the ultrasonic handpiece and the irrigation
function (if this is not set to "0").
The weight of the device and its anti-slip pad
guarantee good stability.
c) Right-hand side of the control unit
The cord connecting the device and the
handpiece connector governs:
- Fluid circulation for the spray.
- The electric connection between the device and
the handpiece.
