4. 3 INSTALLATION
Important:
Never rotate the handpiece connector on its
cord, otherwise you may damage the device.
Do not place the P5 N
EWTRON
XS close to or on
top of another device.
Do not place the power cord and the footswitch
cord in a wire cover or in a cable gland.
- Place the control unit in position on a fixed,
horizontal surface, or with a slope of no more
than 5°.
- Check that the power control dial is on OI
(stop).
- Connect the power cord to the power
receptacle of the device.
- Connect the power cord to a socket with a
ground pin.
- Position the footswitch so that it is easily
accessible for your feet.
- Check that there is no humidity in the
handpiece connections. If there is, dry it out by
wiping, then blowing with the multifunction
syringe.
- Connect the handpiece by simply plugging in
the connector cord and lining up the electrical
contacts.
- Place the handpiece on its rest.
- Install the irrigation solution tank on its
support, after removing the protection cap on
the device's receiving connector (Fig. 2-5).
- Place the cover on the irrigation tank.
4. 4 FIRST USE
Before using the P5 N
EWTRON
XS for the first time
you are advised to carry out the following
operations:
- Remove the tank from the device.
- Remove the cap from the tank.

Fill the irrigation solution tank with
disinfectant, without exceeding the level
indicated by the border (Fig. 4-1).
- Place the cover on the irrigation solution tank.
- Replace the tank on the device.
- Connect the handpiece to the handpiece cord.
- Set the device to minimum power (1).
- Press the irrigation flow setting button (Fig. 2-
3) to rinse the irrigation circuit on the device.
- Completely empty the disinfectant solution
from the tank.
- Remove the tank from the device.
- Remove the cover from the irrigation solution
tank.
- Fill the irrigation solution tank with distilled
water or demineralized water.
- Place the cover on the irrigation solution tank.
- Replace the tank on the device.
- Press the irrigation flow setting button (Fig. 2-
3) to rinse the irrigation circuit on the device.
- Completely empty the tank.
- Disconnect the handpiece.
- Remove the cover from the irrigation solution
tank.
- Remove the irrigation solution tank.
- Perform maintenance/sterilization on all the
material according to the instructions in
chapter 8.
