V - IRRIGATION SOLUTIONS
The P5 N
EWTRON
XS is not designed to administer
drugs.
However it can perform irrigation circuit rinsing
and operating field irrigation with medical
products such as:
- Physiological saline.
- Hypochlorite.
- Chlorexidine.
- Dakin
® .
- Eludril ® .
- E.D.T.A. Salvizol ® .
VI - USING THE DEVICE
Important :
- Do not disconnect the handpiece from the
cord while the machine is plugged in and the
footswitch is pressed.
- For your safety and that of your patient, the
P5 N
EWTRON
XS must not be used with
accessories other than those supplied by
SATELEC.
- For correct tip vibration the tip must be
correctly screwed in, and not forced past its
stop point. To avoid tip self-blockage, it must
always be removed after use.
- If it is screwed too far, the tip or handpiece
can fracture.
- The irrigation tank cover must always be in
place while the device is in use.
- Check the integrity of the device and its
accessories before and after each use in order
to detect any problem.
- If necessary, replace all faulty parts.
- Always remove the irrigation tank from the
device before filling it.
The P5 N
EWTRON
XS is started as follows:
- Make sure that the device is connected
correctly and properly insulated.
- Check that there is no humidity in the
handpiece connections or the handpiece cord
connector. Otherwise, dry it out by wiping and
blowing with a multifunction syringe.
- Plug the handpiece into the handpiece cord
connector.
- Remove the tank from the device.
- Remove the irrigation tank cover.
- Fill the tank with irrigation solution without
exceeding the level indicated by the border
(Fig. 4-1).
- Replace the cover on the irrigation tank.
- Install the filled tank on its support.
- Set the device to minimum power (1) and
maximum flow.
- Start up the irrigation current by pressing the
footswitch.
- When the irrigation solution reaches the end of
the handpiece, release the footswitch.
- Screw in the desired tip.
- Tighten the tip with moderate force (using the
wrench) to ensure optimal ultrasonic operation.
- Set the device to the required power (according
to color and number) using the control dial.
- If necessary, refer to the TipBook for ideal
SATELEC tip power settings.
- Adjust the irrigation solution flow using the flow
adjustment knob.
- Press the footswitch to use the device.
