Pinging an IP Address

To send a ping from a specific processor, use the
from
clause in the
ping
command:
ping ip-address from slot . processor [count number ]
where
ip-address is the destination for the ping,
from is a required keyword,
slot (1-6; 1 on an ARX®1000 or ARX®500) is the slot number of the
desired module, and
processor (1-6) is the processor number. Use
show processor
for a complete
list of processors (and their modules and slots) on the ARX.
count number (optional, 1-10,000) limits the number of pings, as explained
above.
For example, the following command sequence shows all processors on an
ARX®6000 and then issues a ping from processor 3.3 (port 3 on the NSM):
