Left click the
Save
button. Your ARMC card can now send alerts by dialing out and establishing a
Point to
Point Protocol
(PPP) connection with your
Remote Access Server
(RAS) or ISP.
Note:
You can choose one destination to be
Mail Via LAN
while choosing
Destination 2
as
Mail Via PPP
.
This means that if you wanted to select
Destination 1
as an SNMP Trap listener that can
only be accessible by dialing out to a RAS server, then you should choose
SNMP Via
PPP
.
You can also choose
SNMP via LAN
as the first destination and
SNMP via PPP
as the
second destination. The ARMC card is capable of doing both.
The same guidelines apply to email.
Having a modem does not preclude you from using LAN destinations. Since there are
eight possible destinations, some of the destinations can be via LAN while others can be
via modem.
