to the gas connection (decompression valve) on the gas cylinder or with the
gas supply line and check for leaks.
3
Set the required shielding gas volume at the pressure regulator (6–18 l/min).
WARNING
Risk of injury due to improper transport and installation
Improper transport and installation can cause the device to tip or fall over. This could cause major burns.
► Check and wear your personal protective equipment.
► Ensure that the extraction hose is laid in a straight line.
► Ensure that all supply lines and cables do not encroach into the area in which employees are working.
► Place the device on a suitable surface (flat, solid, dry) on which it will not topple over.
► Note the weight of the device when lifting it.
► Use an appropriate lifting tool with a load handling attachment for transporting and installing the
device.
► Avoid lifting and setting down the device abruptly.
► Do not lift the device over persons or other devices.
► Select a location that enables a short and straight extraction hose feed and prevents it from entering
the employee’s space for movement.
NOTICE
Risk of material damage due to improper transport and installation
Improper transport or installation can cause the device to tip or fall over. This can result in material
damage and irreparable damage to the device.
► Protect the device against the weather conditions, e.g. rain and direct sunlight.
► Ensure that the device does not make contact with the ground if you pass over edges.
► Only use the device in dry, clean and well-ventilated rooms.
► Maintain a minimum distance of 1 m from the wall when installing the device to ensure that it has
sufficient ventilation.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to fire
A fire may occur due to improper use or connection. They could cause major burns.
► Ensure that the operating voltage specified on the nameplate corresponds to the connection voltage.
► Do not use the device to extract welding fumes that result from welding oil-wetted parts.
► Do not use the device to extract flammable substances and liquids.
► Do not use the device in areas subject to dust or gas explosion hazards.
NOTICE
► The gas volume to be set depends primarily on the welding current.
