3.3.9.
Transmit filter E5TX
The functions of the Tx filter are:
•
It reduces spurious emissions due to non-linearity of the power
amplifier.
•
Its high impedance outside the transmit band enables further PLC
units to be connected in parallel.
•
It protects the output amplifier from the voltage spikes on the
power line caused by power system switching, faults and lightning.
The filter can be programmed for the three bandwidths 8, 16 and
32 kHz. Center frequency and bandwidth of the filter can be selected
with jumpers. Exact tuning of its coils L1 and L2 can be done using the
Tx tuning adapter P3LL and the HMI600 program. Refer to the E5TX
Tuning Instructions in the annex for details.
When the RF hybrid P3LE is configured accordingly, the Tx filter also
filters the Rx-RF signal. This is described in section 3.3.11.
