Opens a Telnet client session with a remote device.
Syntax

telnet
{
ip-addr
|
hostname
} [
port
port-num
]
ip-addr
— IP address of the remote device.
hostname
— Hostname of the remote device.
port
port-num
—
TCP port number on which the TCP server on the
remote device listens for Telnet connections.
Defaults
— MSS attempts to establish Telnet connections with TCP port
23 by default.
Access
— Enabled.
History
—Introduced in MSS Version 3.0.
Usage
— To end a Telnet session from the remote device, press
Ctrl
+
t
or
type
quit
or
logout
in the management session on the remote device. To
end a client session from the local WX switch, use the
clear sessions
telnet client
command.
If the configuration of the WX switch from which you enter the
telnet
command has an ACL that denies Telnet client traffic, the ACL also
denies access by the
telnet
command.
