When I click the Dial
button in CMCC, I get
a message reading
“The IP address of the
Cable Modem
Termination System
(CMTS) is not valid.
Please contact your
cable operator.”
Click
OK
. CMCC should continue to operate normally. However, if you
see this screen again, reboot your computer by click Windows
Start
,
clicking
Shut Down...
, clicking the “Restart the computer?” radio
button, and then clicking
Yes
.
When I try to launch
CMCC, I get a
message reading
“Dial-Up Adapter was
not installed”.
If you see this message, you do not have Dial Up Networking installed.
See Appendix A for more information about installing Dial Up
Networking. Once you have installed Dial Up Networking, uninstall the
CMCC software using the instructions in chapter 6. Then re-install the
CMCC software by inserting the Cable
Connections
CD into your
CD-ROM drive, clicking Windows
Start
, clicking
Run
, typing
D:/setup.exe
(where “D” is the letter of your CD-ROM drive), and then
pressing
Enter
. Follow the on-screen instructions to install CMCC. When
installation is complete, refer to section 4 for information about making
your first connection.
I re-installed CMCC.
When the software
ran its diagnostic
tests after
installation, it
reported a failure,
alerting me that it
was missing required
components.
This is a common problem when installing CMCC again without first
un-installing the version of the application already on your computer. You
should always uninstall CMCC (using the instructions in chapter 6) before
reinstalling it (by inserting the Cable
Connections
CD into your CD-ROM
drive and then running the
setup.exe
file at the root level). However, you
will probably not encounter any problems despite this apparent failure.
