setting.
WEP – Enables or disables Wired Equivalent Privacy.
•
Disabled—Members will not have access to WEP-
enabled members and vice-versa.
•
Mandatory—Members for which WEP is enabled will
have access only to other members with WEP enabled.
•
Dynamic is intended for infrastructure networks using an
Access Point. Do not use it for an ad-hoc network. When
Dynamic is in use at an Access Point, the Access Point
can communicate with either Mandatory or Disabled
WEP members.
For specific settings of WEP, click on the Encryption tab.
PS Mode – You should not need to change this setting.
Channel – Use the arrows to choose a channel. All ZoomAir
units on the same LAN segment must use the same channel.
In an Infrastructure network, the Access Point changes the
channel dynamically and should be set from there.
In an ad-hoc network, the first unit to send out a beacon de-
termines the channel. Changing the channel on one unit sim-
ply changes the channel on which it will start when it is re-
booted.
ZoomAir units should all be on the same channel after the
initial installation. Unless you encounter interference from an
adjacent wireless LAN, you should not need to change the
channel.
The most straightforward way to ensure that all units will use
the same channel is to change all of them manually.
Restore Defaults – Restores the ZoomAir unit to the settings
it had when first installed.
Restore Initial – Restores the settings to the last state that
was saved to the ZoomAir unit.
Apply Changes – Sends the new settings to the ZoomAir
unit.
