After expiry of the average operation time of
300 h, the HBO 103 W/2 mercury vapor short-arc
lamp must be exchanged.
The operating time of the lamp can be checked on
the counter (2-30/
1 ) of the HBO 100 W
transformer.
Follow the following steps when changing the
HBO 103 W/2 lamp:
•
Remove or unscrew the line plug and the HBO
103 plug from the HBO 100 W transformer.
•
Use SW 3 ball-headed screwdriver to loosen
clamping screw (2-31/
2 ) and remove HBO 103
illuminator (2-31/ 3 ) from the incident-light tube
(2-31/ 1 ) of the microscope stand.
•
Wear protective mask and safety gloves.
•
Use focusing knob (2-32/ 1 ) to bring collector to
the position at the very front (in the direction of
the light).
•
Use ball-headed screwdriver to loosen clamping
screw for lamp housing (2-32/
11 ) and carefully
remove lamp housing (2-32/ 2 ) from the lamp
mount (2-32/ 9 ) in an upward direction.
•
Use knurled screw (2-32/ 12 ) to loosen the
connection between contact wire and ceramic
body.
•
Use 17 mm fork wrench (2-32/ 6 ) to carefully
loosen hexagonal nut (2-32/ 7 ). Take out
HBO 103 W/2 lamp (2-32/ 5 ) including the
cooling body (2-32/ 3 ) and carefully place the
unit on the table with the cooling body
pointing downwards.
•
Loosen the clamping screw (2-32/ 4 ) on the
cooling body, carefully remove the HBO 103
W/2 lamp (2-32/
5 ) from the cooling body and
dispose of it in the original packaging in
accordance with the legal regulations.
