The membrane expansion tank should have a storage volume of least 10% of the maximum
fl ow capacity (in l/min) of the pump being used.
The inlet pressure of the membrane expansion tank must be set depending on the
required target pressure of the pump in accordance with the following scale. The inlet
pressure must be set in unpressurised condition of the system.
Example: Target pressure (P-SET) 3.5 bar
- Diff erential pressure 0.3 bar
= start pressure 3.2 bar
Inlet pressure of membrane expansion tank = 2.7 bar
The inlet pressure of the membrane expansion tank must be checked and corrected, if
necessary, in usual intervals (see manufacturer documents, but at least once a year).
