Step 8: Attach Pedals
The pedals are marked
“R” for Right and “L” for Left. The right pedal goes on right side of bike which
is on right side of rider when riding bike. The left pedal goes on left side of bike which is on left side of
rider when riding bike. Use wrench provided in tool kit to attach and tighten pedals.
a. Be careful not to cross thread or damage the threads.
b. Thread and turn clockwise the right pedal by hand onto the right side of the crank.
c. Thread and turn counterclockwise the left pedal by hand onto the left side of the crank.
d. Torque each pedal to 22 ft.lb (30 Nm) using pedal wrench.
Take care not to cross thread or damage threads when threading pedals onto crank. Use
pedal wrench provided in tool kit to avoid damage.
Rider leg should be only slightly bent when pedal is closest to ground, the ball of the foot
is on the pedal, and rider is sitting on the seat.
