Step 2: Secure Stem
The stem should be tightly secured to the head tube of fork when bike is received. The position or
height can be adjusted as needed.
a. Use 4mm Allen to loosen horizontal M5 screws securing stem to head tube of fork.
b. Use 5mm Allen wrench to loosen M6 bolt in center of stem top cap.
c. Turn stem as needed to align stem with fork and wheel. Make sure stem is aligned to center of
fork.
d. Tighten M6 bolt to remove any play in headset. It should be about ½ turn greater than finger
tight.
e. Tighten M5 screws to 3-4 ft.lb (4-6Nm).
f. Make sure stem is tight and fork moves freely after bike is fully assembled.
