PANOURA 18S Operation Manual
Precautions for Use
Warning
CARELESS OR IMPROPER USE OF X-RAY EQUIPMENT CAN BE EXTERMELY HAZ-
ARDOUS.
1. Be sure to operate the equipment in a radiation-controlled area.
2. A patient, if moves, may be caught by a rotating arm unit during image acquisition.
To avoid this accident, monitor a patient every minute and if you detect any possible
danger, immediately stop image acquisition.
3. A patient, if moves, may be caught by a rotating arm unit during positioning or image
acquisition. To avoid this accident, ask the patient to remain still.
4. Turn the power switch OFF (a ○ symbol will appear) if you don’t intend to operate the
equipment for a long period.
5. Any one other than the qualified service persons should not remove the cover, other-
wise a failure, accident, discoloration/color-fading, or malfunction may occur.
6. Electromagnetic wave
An electromagnetic wave, if any, may interfere with this medical equipment in your
clinic office, causing malfunction. Avoid this problem, be sure to turn off the power
switches of the electric apparatuses; a cell phone, PHS, transceiver, or radio-controlled
transmitter.
7. Be sure to plug a medical ground cable into a ground outlet prior to use of PANOURA
18S. Don’t plug the cable into any other kind of outlet than that for exclusive use.
8. Don’t connect any other device than specified ones to the equipment. Don’t install
unspecified software on the PC connected to the system.
9. Don’t connect a developing apparatus with the equipment in the same X-ray room. A
gas generated by the developing apparatus may erode the equipment, leading to seri-
ous damage.
10. Never gaze directly at positioning beams, though their power outputs (Class 2) are
enough to avoid adverse effects on your eyes by aversive behavior by winking.
11. Don’t apply any heavy load or shock on the equipment, e.g. suspending from the chin
rest or sliding mechanism, otherwise the equipment may be damaged.
12. Never allow infants and children to approach this product except when used for medi-
cal care.
13. Do not give high impact or excessive external load to this product. Otherwise it may
cause malfunction.
14. Do not hang down from or apply force on the Cephalo unit (including the Cephalo-
arm). Otherwise the equipment may fall or be damaged.
15. Be careful not to let infants and children hang down from or apply force on the Cephalo
unit (including the Cephalo-arm).
