User Guide SIP-T28P IP Phone

To place multiple calls on the shared line:

You can have more than one call on the shared line. To place a new call when there is
an active call on the shared line, do as below:

Press the line key.

The original call is placed on hold.

Enter the desired number using the keypad.

Press , , or the Send soft key.

To place a call on public hold:

Press or the Hold soft key when there is an active call on the shared line.

The line key LED illuminates flashing when the shared line call is placed on public
hold. For more line key LED indications, refer to

LED Instructions

on page

To retrieve a call placed on public hold:

Do one of the following:

Press again or the Resume soft key on the hold phone when there is a public
held call on the shared line.

Press the line key on any other phone shares the line when there is a public held
call on the shared line.

To place a call on private hold, you can configure a private hold soft key. The private
hold soft key can appear on the LCD screen when there is an active call on the phone.

To configure a private hold soft key via web user interface:

Click on Phone->Softkey Layout.

Select Enabled from the pull-down list of Custom SoftKey.

Select On Talk from the pull-down list of Call States.

The web user interface lists all the available soft keys, which may appear on the
LCD screen when there is an active call on the phone.

In the Unselected Softkeys box, select Private Hold and click to move Private
Hold to the Selected Softkeys box.

(Optional.) Click or to move up or down the private hold soft key.

The PriHold soft key will appear on the LCD screen when there is an active call on
the phone.

Note

To place a call on private hold:

Press the PriHold soft key when there is an active call on the shared line.

If there is no PriHold soft key on the LCD screen, you can press the More soft key to
