CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS
Check each bulb and bulb socket for dam -
age or w ear, proper connections, and also
for continuity betw een the term inals.
Dam age/w ear

Repair or replace the
bulb, bulb socket or both.

nect.
Incorrect continuity reading

Repair
or replace the bulb, bulb socket or
both.
TYPES OF BULBS
The bulbs used on this m otorcycle are
show n in the illustration on the left.
• Bulbs
A
and
B
are used for headlights
and usually use a bulb holder w hich
m ust be detached before rem oving the
bulb. The m ajority of these bulbs can
be rem oved from their respective
socket by turning them counterclock-
w ise.
• Bulb
C
is used for turn signal and tail/
brake lights and can be rem oved from
the socket by pushing and turning the
bulb counterclockw ise.
• Bulbs
D
and
E
are used for m eter and
indicator lights and can be rem oved
from their respective socket by care-
fully pulling them out.
CHECKING THE CONDITION OF THE BULBS
The follow ing procedure applies to all of
the bulbs.
1. Rem ove:
• bulb
