LEVEL

1. M easure:

• fuel level

Out of specification

Adjust.

a. Stand the m otorcycle on a level sur-

face.

b. Place the m otorcycle on a suitable

stand to ensure that the m otorcycle is
standing straight up.

c. Install the fuel level gauge

onto the

fuel drain pipe

d. Loosen the fuel drain bolt

e. Hold the fuel level gauge vertically

next to the line

on the float cham -

ber.

f. M easure the fuel level

NOTE:

Fuel level readings should be equal on
both sides of the carburetor assem bly.

2. Adjust:

• fuel level

a. Rem ove the carburetor assem bly.

b. Check the needle valve seat and nee-

dle valve.

c. If either is w orn, replace them as a

set.

d. If both are fine, adjust the float level

by slightly bending the float tang

e. Install the carburetor assem bly.

f. M easure the fuel level again.

g. Repeat steps (a) to (f) until the fuel

level is w ithin specification.
