ADJUSTING THE EXUP CABLES/

CHECKING THE COOLANT LEVEL

5. Adjust:

• EXUP cable free play

a. Loosen both locknuts

.

b. Insert a 4-m m long pin through the

notch in the EXUP valve pulley and
into the hole in the EXUP valve cover.

c. Turn both adjusting bolts

counter-

clockw ise until there is no EXUP cable
free play.

d. Turn both adjusting bolts 1/2 of a turn

clockw ise.

e. Tighten both locknuts and then

rem ove the pin.

6. Install:

• EXUP valve pulley cover

7. Install:

• bottom cow ling
• fuel tank

Refer to “ COWLINGS” and “ FUEL
TANK” .

CHECKING THE COOLANT LEVEL

1. Stand the m otorcycle on a level surface.

NOTE:

• Place the m otorcycle on a suitable

stand.

• M ake sure that the m otorcycle is

upright.

2. Check:

• coolant level

The coolant level should be betw een
the m inim um level m ark

Below the m inim um level m ark

Add

the recom m ended coolant to the
proper level.

ACHTUNG:

CAUTION:

• Adding w ater instead of coolant low ers

the antifreeze content of the coolant. If
w ater is used instead of coolant, check
and if necessary, correct the antifreeze
concentration of the coolant.

• Use only distilled w ater. How ever,

soft w ater may be used if distilled
w ater is not available.
