CHECKING THE BULBS AND SOCKETS
OF BULBS
Check each bulb and bulb socket for damage or wear,
proper connections and continuity between terminals.

Types of bulbs
The bulbs used in the vehicle shown in the
illustration on the left.
•
Bulbs "a" and "b" are used for streetlights and
typically use a socket to be separated before
removing the bulb. Most of these types of
bulbs can be remo vidos of their sockets by
turning counterclockwise.
•
Bulbs "c", is used to turn the indicator light and
the taillight / brake lights, and can be removed
from the socket by pressing and turning the
bulb counterclockwise.
WARNING
Since the streetlight bulbs get very hot, keep
flammable products and your hands away from
them until they have cooled.
CAUTIONN:
• Be sure to hold the socket firmly when removing
the bulb bulb. Never pull the cord, if it can be
pulled out of the terminal on the coupler.
•
Avoid touching the glass of a lamp bulb and keep
it free from oil, otherwise the transparency of
glass, the life of the bulb and the luminous flux
will be adversely affected. If the bulb of the lamp
is dirty, clean it thoroughly with a cloth
moistened with alcohol or lacquer thinner.
2. Check:

No continuity

Multimeter
Checking the condition of the bulbs The following
procedure applies to all bulbs.
1.
Remove:
•
Bulb
NOTE:
Before checking for continuity, set the
multimeter in continuity mode.
a. Connect the positive probe of the multimeter to
terminal "1" and the negative probe of the
multimeter to terminal "2", and check the
continuity.
b. Connect the positive probe of the multimeter to
terminal "1" and the negative probe of the
multimeter to terminal "3", and check the
continuity.
c.
If any of the readings indicate no continuity,
replace the bulb.
