Measuring deformation of the brake

disk

If out of specification, repeat the adjustment

until the brake disc deflection is within the
specified

If the deformation of disc brake disc can not be

brought within specification, replace the brake
disc.

REPLACING THE FRONT BRAKE PADS

NOTE:

When replacing the brake pads, it is not
necessary to disconnect the brake hose or
disassemble the brake caliper.

Measure

Desgate limit of the brake pad "to" Out of
Specification

Replace

Coating thickness of the brake
pads (interior)

4.5 mm

Limit 0.8 mm

Coating thickness of the brake
pads (outside)

4.5 mm

Limit 0.8 mm

NOTE:

Assemble the new brake pads and new brake

pads spring.

Securely attach clear plastic hose "1" in the

bleed screw "2". Place the other end of the
hose into a container.

Loosen the bleed screw and push the piston

brake caliper with your fingers

Tighten the bleed screw

Bleed screw

6 Nm (0.6 m · kg, 4.3 ft · lb)

d. Assemble the brake pads and brake springs

again.

3. Verify

Brake fluid level

Below the minimum level mark "a"

Add

brake fluid

recommended to the proper level. Refer to
"CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL"
on page 3-14.
