Starter "1"

•

Motor front cover

start / brush holder assembly "2"

NOTE:

Before disassembling the starter, make alignment
marks "a" in the starter cover and front cover
starter / brush holder assembly.

NOTE:

To ensure proper operation of the switch must

be lowered mica.

Measure:

•

Armor resistances (commutator and

insulation)

OOS

Replace

יו

the motor

boot.

STARTER INSPECTION

Check:

•

Switch

Dirt

Cleaning יו

with 600 grit

sandpaper.

Measure:

•

Diameter of the switch "a"

OOS

Replace

יו

the

starter.

Measure the resistance of the armor with the

multimeter.

Multimeter

Armor Coil

Resistance of the switch "1"

Ù 0.0315 to 0.0385 at 20 ° C (68 ° F)

Limit

17.6 mm

If the resistance is out of specification

Replace

starter.

Measure:

•

Mica recess "a"

OOS

Undercut the mica to the proper size

with a saw blade for metal frosted, until it

clicks into the switch.

Mica undercut (depth)
