Fault code No. C1004
TIP
After the malfunction is repaired and the preload is adjusted, fault code No. C1004 may not disappear
if the main switch is turned to “ON” within approximately 6 minutes after the rear shock absorber as-
sembly DC motor stops. If this occurs, turn the main switch to “OFF”, wait approximately 6 minutes, and
then turn the main switch to “ON”.

is locked, rotary encoder signal is not received, encoder signal is re-
versed, or motor rotates continuously at a low speed during the di-
agnostic mode (code No. 84 [preload home position adjustment]).

The “check” indicator on the Yamaha diagnostic tool screen comes on
when the preload home position adjustment starts.
When completed successfully
The “check” indicator on the Yamaha diagnostic tool screen goes off.
When not completed successfully
The “check” indicator on the Yamaha diagnostic tool screen flashes. Re-
move the rear shock absorber assembly DC motor and adjust it by hand.
After adjusting the DC motor, perform the procedure for diagnostic code
No. 84 again. If the “check” indicator on the Yamaha diagnostic tool
screen flashes again, replace the rear shock absorber assembly.
