Allow variation of surface properties : This checkbox should be activated when the surface rough-­‐
ness can vary or when the substrate shines through for very thin coatings. In this case the measure-­‐
ment quality is below 90 %, this settings optimizes it.
The fields
Warning and Error list the corresponding threshold value marking the limit for a warning
or an error message (rating a later routine measurement as unsuccessful), when the measurement
value deviates too much from the used application. In case of a warning the warning icon is displayed
in the main window next to the measurement value, in case of an error the error icon is displayed.
The predefined settings are a proposal according to the measurement data aquired with the applica-­‐
tion.
Bounds:
The settings in this dialog are predefined according to the material settings for the application.
To modify the settings in this dialog, the checkbox user-­‐defined must be activated.
NOTICE
These settings have a great influence on the application quality and thus on the quality of the meas-­‐
urement results. They are reserved to experts with the corresponding technical knowledge.
