Protection against dangerous contact voltages
DANGER
Install protection against electric shock!
All wiring for the measurement system shall be provided with protection against shock
hazard voltages along with the corresponding safety signs!
DANGER
Always use current measurement transformers or Rogowski coils for current and
power measurements
Current measurement transformers or Rogowski coils corresponding to the requirements
of standard IEC 61869 must always be used for current and power measurements. For
North America (UL) the requirements for current measurement transformers shall be ob-
served, see "Installation Regulations Specified by Approvals."
The transformer or coil are necessary to ensure adequate isolation from the system in
case of electrical fault. Electrical faults can cause shock or burns. Furthermore, current
measurement without a current measurement transformer can lead to a short circuit in the
power network and destruction of the product.
DANGER
When measuring voltage and power, always observe specifications for measure-
ment topologies, supply networks, voltage levels and voltage measurement trans-
formers
For voltage and power measurement, the product must only be used according to the
specifications for voltage levels and voltage measurement transformers specified for the
respective supply network and measurement topology.
Otherwise, adequate isolation from the system may no longer be possible in the event of
a fault. This can cause electric shock or burns.
