Performing Measurements
During continuous measurement, the measured values can be processed in several
ways.
Reading out the Measured Value Register
By default, the measured values are queried by the higher-level controller via Modbus by
reading out the measured value registers (register communication).

Communication per Modbus RTU [
.
Reading out the Energy Value at the S0 Interface
To determine the energy consumption, the energy values can be read out at the S0 inter-
face. This requires the configuration of the “DO” as an S0 interface.
Ultimately, the same connection terminals are used..
The values are transmitted in the form of pulses. Pulse rates from 1 … 10.000 pulses per
kWh can be set.
Note
Do Not Use the product for Billing Purposes!
The product is not an approved billing meter as defined in the standard for electricity me-
ters (DIN 43856).
Data logging with a Micro SD Memory Card
With the "data logging" function, the measured values can be cyclically saved on a micro
SD card as a CSV file. All measured and calculated measurement values can be saved.
Once the micro SD card is inserted, the measured values are automatically saved with
the default settings.
The saving interval can be configured within a range of 1 s … 3600 s in increments of 1 s.
Date and time are specified for each measured value. This information is provided by a
real-time clock, which has an energy reserve of about eight hours.
Note that to ensure accurate time recording, this clock must be regularly synchronized
with the system clock of a connected PC.
For more information about data logging, see "Configuration with the Interface Configura-
tion Software".
These parameters support the "data logging function":
