Inserting a needle
Changing needles
2.
Place a small piece of thick fabric under the presser foot.
!
This will keep the needle from falling into the needle plate.
3.
Lower the needle by means of the handle wheel until it just goes into the
fabric.
4.
Loosen the needle clamp screw by means of the Allen key.
!
Make sure to only loosen the screw and not to remove it.
5.
Hold the needle securely with your fingers and turn the
‹hand wheel›
forwards towards you until the needle bar is in the highest position.
!
The needle bar goes back up, while the needle remains stuck in the
fabric.
» The needle has been removed
W6 tip
If you remove only one needle, you should definitely tighten the needle
clamp screw gently so that it will not get lost.
ATTENTION:
If the needles have been inserted correctly, the needles on the right seem to
be a little longer than the needle on the left. The needle heights drop from
left to right.
7.3 Inserting a needle
Make sure to select a suitable needle. Only use W6 WERTARBEIT needles
ELX705 of size 80 or 90 for this cover.
W6 tip
The cover sews with up to three needles. One for the orange, one for the
blue and one for the green thread. As the insertion process of the needles
is identical, the procedure used for only one needle is described here.
Prerequisite:
•
The new W6 WERTARBEIT needle ELX705 of size 80 or 90 is ready
for use.
