5.11 Adjusting the seam width

The width of the seam can be set, for example, by removing one of the

needles.

Use the green thread path for needle E

Use the blue thread path for needle D

Use the orange thread path for needle C

5.11.1

Setting the seam width by removing needles

There are two alternatives available for setting the seam width:

Variant a)

•

Remove needle D (middle needle) and the blue thread path.

•

Sew with needles C + E

•

You will get a stitch width of 6 mm

» The cover seam is wide

Variant b)

•

Remove needle E (needle on the far right) and the green thread

path.

•

Sew with needles C + D

•

You will get a stitch width of 4 mm

» The cover seam is narrow

Narrow cover seam sewn with needles

Wide cover seam sewn with needles C + D + E

Needle E = GREEN thread path
