PERFORMANCE TEST FOR
MICROWAVE
1.
Check line voltage under load. Low line voltage
will lower output.
NOTE: Be as accurate as possible in temperature
and time measurements.
2.
Equipment needed:
A.
1 liter beaker (made of material suitable
for high oven temperature)
B.
Thermometer
C.
Stopwatch
3.
Fill beaker with 1 liter of tap water and stir
water using thermometer and record
temperature (T1).
4.
Use white ceramic tray which is shipped with
oven.
5.
Place beaker in middle of oven cavity.
6.
Microwave heat on HIGH power for 2:30.
7.
Stir the water and record the temperature (T2).
T2 - T1 = Temperature Difference
8.
The temperature difference should be a
minimum of 32
(
F @ 240V.
PERFORMANCE TEST FOR
HALOGEN LAMPS
NOTE: Results of following test are based on a cold
start.
CAUTION: The black metal tray will get hot when
using combi cook.
1.
Use black metal tray.
2.
Fill beaker (made of material suitable for high
oven temperature) with 1 liter of tap water and
stir water using thermometer and record
temperature (T1).
3.
Place beaker in middle of oven cavity.
4.
Run oven at U=10, L=10, M=0 power for 2:30.
5.
Stir the water and record the temperature (T2).
T2 - T1 = Temperature Difference
6.
The temperature difference should be a
minimum of 15
(
F @ 240V.
RADIATION LEAKAGE TEST
NOTE: A radiation leak test must be performed
when microwave is being released to customer and
after any repair.
NOTE: During reassembly, before installing outer
panel and after all necessary components are
replaced and adjusted, a radiation leak test MUST
be performed prior to installing the outer cover.
NOTE: Leakage must be less than 2 mW/cm2
(milliwatts per centimeter squared) for a fully
assembled oven.
NOTE: Leakage must be less than 5 mW/cm2 for
an oven with the outer cover removed.
NOTE: All testing must be done on high power.
1.
Pour 275 milliliter cold tap water into the
microwavable beaker and set in center of oven.
2.
Probe must be held perpendicular to
microwave generating plane.
3.
Follow the leak detector manufacturer's
operation procedures to assure correct results.
4.
The correct SCAN SPEED should be no faster
than 1 inch per second when performing the
test.
NOTE: Whenever you replace a magnetron,
measure for leakage before the outer panel is
installed and after all necessary components are
replaced and adjusted.
NOTE: Because of high voltage, special care
should be taken when measuring around the
magnetron.
5.
After all components have been assembled
and adjusted, including the outer panel, test
the:
A.
Entire perimeter of door and control panel.
B.
Viewing surface of door window.
C.
Exhaust vents.
6.
Record keeping and notifications.
A.
A test must be recorded on the service
ticket after any repair (even if it is zero).
NOTE: Sketch microwave and record leakage on
sketch.
B.
At least once a year, have the radiation
monitor checked for calibration by its
manufacturer.
C.
If leakage level is above the mW/cm2
listed above, contact Cooking Equipment
Technical Support, Troy, Ohio.
