Door Interlock System
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL
POWER TO THE MACHINE AT THE MAIN
CIRCUIT BOX. PLACE A TAG ON THE CIRCUIT
BOX INDICATING THE CIRCUIT IS BEING
SERVICED.
1.
Remove "MAIN COVER.”
2.
Remove "CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY.”
3.
Discharge high voltage capacitor by shorting
the terminals of the high voltage capacitor with
an insulated handled screwdriver or insulated
jumper wire.
4.
Check 20 Amp. Fuse for continuity and proper
size.
NOTE: Do not use any other fuse or size except 20
Amp.
5.
Remove monitor switch leads to isolate switch.
A.
Check continuity of switch with door open
and door closed.
1)
Door opened = zero ohms.
2)
Door closed = infinity.
6.
Reconnect switch wiring.
7.
Test circuit operation.
A.
Connect temporary jumpers across wires
removed from relay RY2 on control board,
across primary interlock switch and door
sensing switch to simulate shorted switch
contacts. Locate convenient connections
in circuit to be certain COM and NO
terminals are used.
B.
Connect ohm meter (Rx1 range) across
the line terminals of the power cord.
Continuity should show:
1)
Door closed = some resistance.
2)
Door opened = zero ohms.
C.
Remove 20 Amp. fuse.
1)
Circuit must open. Meter shows
infinity.
a.
If not, check wiring of monitor
and interlock circuits.
D.
Remove temporary jumper leads from
interlocks and relay terminals.
E.
Be sure that all switch leads are properly
connected.
