TESTING COMPONENTS
Transformer - High Voltage
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL
POWER TO THE MACHINE AT THE MAIN
CIRCUIT BOX. PLACE A TAG ON THE CIRCUIT
BOX INDICATING THE CIRCUIT IS BEING
SERVICED.
1.
Remove "MAIN COVER.”
2.
Discharge high voltage capacitor by shorting
the terminals of the high voltage capacitor with
an insulated handled screwdriver or insulated
jumper wire.
3.
Label and disconnect lead wires from
transformer.
4.
Normal (cold) resistance readings should be:
A.
Secondary winding . . . Approx. 63.0 ohms
B.
Filament winding . . . Approx. 0.4 ohms
C.
Primary winding . . . Approx. 0.273 ohms
Capacitor - High Voltage
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL
POWER TO THE MACHINE AT THE MAIN
CIRCUIT BOX. PLACE A TAG ON THE CIRCUIT
BOX INDICATING THE CIRCUIT IS BEING
SERVICED.
1.
Remove "MAIN COVER.”
2.
Discharge high voltage capacitor by shorting
the terminals of the high voltage capacitor with
an insulated handled screwdriver or insulated
jumper wire.
3.
Disconnect lead wires from capacitor.
CAUTION: Check continuity of capacitor with
meter on highest ohm scale.
4.
A normal capacitor will show continuity for a
short time, and then indicate approximately 9.5
Mega ohm once the capacitor is charged.
5.
A shorted capacitor will show continuous
continuity.
6.
An open capacitor will show a constant
9.5Mega ohm, due to the internal 9.5Mega ohm
resistor.
7.
Resistance between each terminal and chassis
should be infinite.
Diode
If the diode is suspected, substitute a known good
diode and operate oven.
Low-Voltage Transformer
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL
POWER TO THE MACHINE AT THE MAIN
CIRCUIT BOX. PLACE A TAG ON THE CIRCUIT
BOX INDICATING THE CIRCUIT IS BEING
SERVICED.
1.
Remove "MAIN COVER.”
2.
Discharge high voltage capacitor by shorting
the terminals of the high voltage capacitor with
an insulated handled screwdriver or insulated
jumper wire.
3.
Disconnect CN1 primary winding and CN11
secondary winding from control board.
4.
Normal (cold) resistance readings should be:
A.
Primary winding. . . . Approx. 21.4 ohms
B.
Secondary winding:
1)
Between 2 red wires: Approx. 0.80
ohms (7.7VAC)
2)
Between yellow wire and black wire:
Approx. 1.30 ohms (12.4VAC)
3)
Between black wire and white wire:
Approx. 5.0 ohms (19.0VAC)
Keypad
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL
POWER TO THE MACHINE AT THE MAIN
CIRCUIT BOX. PLACE A TAG ON THE CIRCUIT
BOX INDICATING THE CIRCUIT IS BEING
SERVICED.
1.
Remove "CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY.”
2.
Disconnect keypad plug CN3 from control
board.
3.
Check continuity between connections at end
of cable. Use high ohm scale. With meter
connected to pins indicated in chart, depress
pad and release it.
