c) Data storage
The measuring device enables the storage of measured values in up to 500 groups, which can
be read out later with the help of the PC software. The data logger function is always active and
records each measurement chronologically. The storage space is sufficient for a maximum of
500 measured value groups.
11. Measurement method
a) Teach-in mode
This measuring mode is used for the quick measurement of surface coatings in industrial en-
vironments, e.g. coatings on automobiles or other mass-produced products. The measured
results are evaluated as good or reject.

Selecting teach-in mode
In normal measuring mode, press and hold the down button (6) until you reach teach-in
mode. Measuring mode selection for single measurement and average measurement appears.
• Press the up button (7) and down button (6) to select the desired teach-in mode.
- Single-point measurement or
- Multi-point average measurement

Confirm your selection with the confirmation button
(4) to switch to the selected measuring
mode or press the Clear button (5) to leave the menu without switching.

Setting and taking single point measurements in teach-in mode
With single-point measurement, a measured value is taken and immediately evaluated as a
single value as good or reject. To do this, set the required value (100 µm in the example) for the
layer thickness and the permissible upwards and downwards tolerance (10 µm in the example).
