Some IP Telephony Myths Exposed
Vodavi believes that to make well-informed decisions about their communications
technology, customers need to be armed with accurate information.

solutions are always more expensive than alternative TDM
solutions.
False.
While it’s true that IP executive telephones are more expensive than traditional digital
telephones, this cost is often balanced or even exceeded by another cost savings:
combining data and voice traffic on a shared LAN infrastructure. In a new building
installation, the number of cabling runs to desks and work areas can be reduced by one-
half. In a medium to large campus, this savings can be in the tens of thousands of
dollars or more.
