Definition

The Backup Rate setting defines the mini-
mum number of breaths the Vivo 65 will
deliver in case of prolonged apnea and as
long as no inspiratory trigger effort from the
patient has been detected. The cycles will be
ventilator-initiated breaths.

The combination of the Backup Rate and
Backup Inspiratory Time setting is limited
by the I:E ratio 2:1.
